Ranger Aquatics - Beginner Swim Lessons 3A

Ranger Aquatics is offering 3 Swim Lesson sessions before the end of the school year with Deborah Burke, Varsity Swim Coach and Spencerport Ranger Varsity Swimmers.

Please read the criteria below to determine which level your swimmer is, as we cannot schedule Beginners in the same class as Intermediate Swimmers!!  Questions?  Contact Coach Deborah Burke by email:  dburke@spencerportschools.org

Beginner Swim Lessons:  9 lessons per session, $90/session.  Must be at least 4+ years old on first day of lessons.  A Beginner Swimmer is one who swims less than 10 feet unassisted on the water surface.  Requires willingness to “dunk” head underwater.  Class is focused on basic safety skills and instruction, including floating face down, floating face up, blowing bubbles while submerged, rolling from back to stomach while floating, and basic arm and leg movements of front and back crawl (i.e. freestyle and backstroke).  It is likely that young swimmers will require at least 2 sessions of beginner lessons due to age and muscular coordination development to gain swimming proficiency.  Instructor to Swimmer ratio is 1:3.  May 26 – June 13, Tuesday/Thursday 4:00 – 4:40 pm, & Saturday 11:30 – 12:10 pm.  Capacity = 15 swimmers

Intermediate-Level Swim Lessons:  9 lessons per session, $90/session.  Must be at least 6+ years old on first day of lessons.  Children eligible for Intermediate-level swim lessons must be able to swim at least 15 feet unassisted on the water surface, and able to float on front, back, and “log roll” from back to front.  Instruction will focus on improving front/back crawl swimming proficiency and endurance on the water surface, including proper breathing techniques for continuous movement in the water.  Elementary backstroke and breaststroke will be introduced, increasing swimmer safety with ability to swim multiple strokes.  Basic dive instruction included if time allows.  Many swimmers will be able to swim one full length of the pool (25 yards) by the end of the session.  Instructor to student ratio is 1:6. May 26 – June 13, Tuesday/Thursday 4:45 – 5:30 pm & Saturday 12:15 – 1:00 pm.  Capacity = 18 Swimmers

The Spencerport Rangers Soccer Camp is dedicated to teaching the proper fundamentals of soccer. We will work on both individual techniques as well as team tactics. Fun and enjoyment in playing will be stressed with the younger campers. The older more advanced campers will enjoy an intensive and challenging week.

Do you enjoy cheerleading, but wish you could learn better techniques? Then our youth cheerleading camp is for you! This is a comprehensive camp structured around basic cheerleading fundamentals, including jumping, stunting, sideline cheers, dance & tumbling. This camp, led by experienced cheerleading coaches, with assistance from the Varsity athletes, is perfect for both new and experienced cheerleaders. We will end each day with fun games, and interactive activities, while growing tighter relationships between the youth and high school program athletes.  New coach Ally Stenzel

To develop and maintain an environment that is conducive to success on and off the field. On the field accomplishments will be determined by work ethic, cooperation, sportsmanship and victory. Attainment will also include being a positive role model in all areas of life, including academic achievement and involvement within the community. We want to be the first people on the field at the beginning of the season and the last people off. That is our ultimate goal.
